The “Schöneberger Südgelände Berlin” is located in immediate proximity to the urban landscape of the busy German capital. It´s been a long time, since the heavy panting locomotives of the “Reichsbahn” have pulled travelers and freight over these tracks. They are no longer in operation and were taken over by nature just as is the marshalling yard. The development of this former transportation industry site dates back to the mid 19th century. Thanks to the commitment of citizens' initiatives, it has been spared deforestation and urbanization up until today. What remains of the former depot, has over the past years developed a uniquely stubborn and archaic aesthetic. This process seems unaffected by the visual artists and theater companies who have discovered the site.
