I was guest on the German podcast format "Fotografie Neu Denken" (Rethinking Photography). The interview contains details about the making of my most recent work, "Alice in the Field," created during a year-long artist residency at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago (published by Distanz Verlag, May 2024), as well as insights into my photographic path and hints about my new projects in progress.
Delighted to have been invited by Andy Scholz, the creator of the podcast, who has been successfully interviewing personalities from the photography scene for several years now. Furthermore he organizes the yearly photo book contest "Deutscher Fotobuchpreis" (German Photo Book Prize).

Book review, excerpt, translated in English:
“[…] Without it being intentional, Andrea Wilmsen's artist book has become a plea for a future-oriented cosmopolitanism in which hostility to science, censorship and indoctrination have no place. Alice in the Field is one of the most beautiful, interesting and enjoyable photo books of recent months.” Jens Pepper

"Beautiful work, Andrea! Love the focus on abstraction without ever losing grounding in what I am looking at. A fine line between description and abstraction that is difficult to achieve." (www.photophlo.com)
